Whether it’s a grant, a book proposal, a magazine article, or a blog post, what are the ingredients that make a compelling story about scientific research? Prof. Cat Warren teaches a graduate course in science writing for the media, as well as courses in narrative nonfiction at NC State. She is the author of The New York Times bestseller, What the Dog Knows, which was long listed for the 2014 PEN/E.O. Wilson Literary Science Writing Award. She was a reporter for a number of years at newspapers across the United States, was editor of a national magazine for faculty, and worked for two university news bureaus.

Bring a brownbag; dessert will be provided.
